Wednesday 22th May 2017
£12.50 per guest
Come and join Tutbury Castle this May for an entertaining afternoon!
This talk given by the Castle curator Lesley, she speaks in the year 1399 as Duchess of Lancaster in a spectacular costume of the period. The Katherine and John story is one of the greatest love affairs recorded in English history. Their descendants would go on to be every monarch of Scotland and England up to the current day and including her Majesty, The Queen. Travel back in time and see in your imagination the Knights in shining armour and flags flying in this medieval green and pleasant land.
This is followed by one of our home made fruit scones, served with strawberry jam and fresh Cornish clotted cream and a pot of tea in our pretty tea room.
This event must be booked in advance and tickets are non-refundable.
We ask that guests are ready to be seated at 2.30pm for the talk in our great hall followed by the cream tea in our pretty tearoom. The talk will take place in the Great Hall which there are steep steps.
Guest should not arrive before 2pm as they will not be able to access the castle grounds or building before this time.
