The castle remains open all year round* for ticketed events and private functions including meals, school visits, ghost hunts and weddings.

Opening Times

General public opening hours are seasonal as given below.

Spring Season – Starts Friday 8th April 2022 (TBC)
Open Friday – Sunday, 11am – 4pm (last admission 3pm)

Summer Season – Starts Wednesday 21st July 2021
Open Wednesday – Sunday, 11am – 4pm (last admission 3pm)
Starts Wednesday 21st July 2021 to Sunday 5th September 2021
Tutbury Castle will be temporarily closed for general admission on Saturday 21st August and Sunday 22nd August 2021. *

Autumn Season – Starts Friday 9th September 2021
Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 11am – 4pm (last admission 3pm)
Starts Friday 9th September until Sunday 31st October 2021

Please always check our website before visit, as due to private functions parts of the castle or the entire castle may be closed.

All tickets are £4.00 for adults, £3.00 for children and concessions. Under-5s and season ticket holders go free. Tickets may be purchased from the ticket office on arrival.

Car Park

Use of the Tutbury Castle car park is £1.00 per vehicle/motorbike. Parking is at the owners’ risk and Tutbury Castle cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss or theft.

Additional Information

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Commercial photography and filming including wedding photography and filming are permitted but only by prior arrangement. If you do not have a wedding booked at Tutbury Castle you may use the grounds for a pre-wedding photo shoot at a cost agreed by the wedding co-ordinator.
